I thought you were going to upgrade to Mono 2.8 with the next major release of Unity, and was really looking forward to this. To turn it into an OPC Server, you need to install and activate another software product called FactoryTalk Gateway.įactoryTalk Gateway is kind of a monster it includes optimized ControlLogix data access over OPC, but also handles server redundancy and exposes the whole FactoryTalk LiveData and HMI tag databases for FactoryTalk View Site Edition to OPC clients. RSLinx Enterprise is a FactoryTalk data source, but not necessarily an OPC Server. The activation-less "Lite" edition cannot be an OPC Server, and there are also some restricted licenses (like "RSLinx for RSView from many years ago) that only support certain related OPC Clients. RSLinx Classic just needs an activation to enable its OPC Server features.
